Hi, I am Elliot Baker and I am a sixteen-year-old boy with a passion for cooking and gourmet dining. I have experienced gourmet cooking at its best, having been to work experience at Brisbane’s award winning restaurants Urbane/Euro, e’cco, Esquire, The Long Apron, Spring, Cinco, Gerard’s, Stokehouse, Bistro One Eleven and Public. I thank these restaurants for letting me into their kitchen and mentoring me throughout my experience.
I have also been lucky enough to dine with and talk to some of my favourite food writers/critics including Margie Fraser (QWeekend reviewer), Lizzie Loel (Courier Mail reviewer), Tony Harper (Brisbane News reviewer) and John Lethlean (The Australian Reviewer) who I thank very much for their support.
This blog aims to help make a crucial decision in my life: a career as a chef or a food journalist/writer. It will also provide a strong foothold for the career I choose and as I progress, I will be able to see improvements in my writing and cooking.
The blog will consist of restaurant reviews, my favorite recipes, food photography and primarily all the things I encounter on my food adventure.
